Sorry for the inactivity around here, I am committed to a challenge on my other site 406 Not Acceptable to post a new article every day this month. Now, as you can guess the busiest month in Tech Rant's history only has 13 updates (or is it 18?) So, this is taking up more of my time than I thought it would have. Silly me, I really should have thought it out more; perhaps only doing the challenge for a week.

No-one actually forced me into doing it, I thought it would make sense seeing as the site is new it could do with some content. It actually gets a few hits, but it is nowhere near the amount Tech Rant gets. Maybe I should have invested the effort here instead, that may have been a better idea.

The thing is Wordpress automatically handles pings for the site, so a bunch of blog cataloging sites log the site and many sites will log your feed (such as feedburner.) This makes it much easier for a Wordpress blog (and probably a Google one,) to get noticed. Whilst a Postnuke based site, such as this does not have such functionality. I am still waiting on Postnuke 8; although the intial feature set, or should I say no feature set (it installs with no content modules) sounds rather discouraging.

Finally, the wordpress blog is actually SEO optimised. This site is lukcy enough to get a few top 5 google rankings, as the SEO invloved in Postnuke is pure rubbish. You have to then hack the damn thing into having some, albeit poor, SEO optimisation.

Oh well, enjoy the rest of the month! I'll be revising next month and have exams the month after that, so times are hard.
